Usually the operating voltage is easily met, while the load current is easily overlooked. There are various types of loads, including DC and AC, and the resistances are also large and small. If the load does not match the output type of the proximity switch, it is easy to damage the proximity switch.


        For example, choose a proximity switch to control a relay. The power supply voltage used by the proximity switch is AC220V, the current is 200mA, the coil voltage of the relay is also AC220v, the power during normal operation is 12V·A, and the power at startup is 75V·A. If we only consider the situation during normal operation, there seems to be no problem. However, if we conduct in-depth analysis, we will see that the coil current of the relay is very large when it is started, exceeding 200mA. If the switching frequency is very high, it will inevitably shorten the service life of the proximity switch or directly damage the switching element. In this case, it is best to use a proximity switch with a larger output current.
