Working principle of two-way pull rope switch for belt conveyor

The two-way pull rope switch of the belt conveyor is mainly used to monitor and control the position or operating status on the conveyor belt. It consists of a pull cord device, a switch device and a control circuit. Here’s how it works:


Pull rope device: usually consists of two pull ropes, which are installed on both sides or both ends of the conveyor belt. The pull rope moves synchronously with the conveyor belt, and the appropriate tension is generally maintained through a tensioning device.


Switching device: includes one or more switches, usually installed on both sides of the conveyor belt. There are one or more trigger devices inside the switchgear that are activated when the pull cord is pulled.


Control circuit: used to control the working status of the switch device, generally composed of electronic components such as micro switches and relays. When the trigger device is activated, the control circuit receives the signal and performs corresponding control operations.

The working process is as follows:


Normal state: When the conveyor belt is maintained in the normal operating position, the pull rope is not pulled, the trigger device is in an inactive state, and the switch device is in a closed state.


Abnormal state: When the conveyor belt deviates, breaks, relaxes or has other abnormal conditions, the drawstring will be pulled and the trigger device will be activated.


Monitoring and control: The activated trigger device will perform signal processing through the control circuit, such as the closing or opening of the relay, and transmit the signal to the control system. The control system can perform corresponding alarms, shutdowns or other operations based on the signals to ensure the safe operation of the conveyor belt.


Through the two-way pull-rope switch, the operating status of the conveyor belt can be effectively monitored and controlled, abnormal situations can be discovered in a timely manner, and corresponding measures can be taken to avoid possible accidents.
